Supplier Training

Genombrott is offering a two day training course on code of conduct implementation for factories in China that supply to European companies. Courses will be taking place in Shanghai and Dongguan.

Capacity building in the supply chain has been identified as key to the successful implementation of codes of conduct. This programme is designed to teach suppliers how they can work with implementation of codes of conduct and relevant labour legislation in their factories. If your company is working with a code of conduct, this capacity building programme will help your suppliers to understand why they should cooperate with you on improving labour conditions. Moreover, it will equip suppliers with the practical tools they need to manage labour issues effectively.

Suppliers are often sceptical about ethical sourcing. Successful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in this area therefore requires clear communication as well as training. This will enable your suppliers to understand the potential benefits that CSR-work presents, whilst providing them with applicable knowledge about what they actually need to do in practise. All of this will help you to develop the relationship with your suppliers, which apart from making your CSR-work more effective, will also improve communication on other vital matters such as quality and lead times. We advise you to offer this training to your most important first-tier suppliers and the factories where you have the greatest commercial leverage.

What you get

A two day intensive training programme conducted in Chinese by labour experts with several years of professional experience of factory improvement programmes and social auditing.

During the two days participants will learn:

• The importance of workers’ rights and codes of conduct

• The requirements of Chinese labour law

• Best practice examples of how managers of Chinese factories handle labour issues

• How to formulate and implement factory regulations

• Common non-compliances and how to deal with them

After the training your company and all participants will receive a written report in Chinese and English. As well as serving as a resource for your future work with other suppliers, the report contains recommendations concerning future actions for your company and its current suppliers.

Where and when?

Several dates during 2009 and 2010 in Shanghai and Dongguan. For more details or customised training please contact Genombrott directly.
